Dry Kapoon Recipe [also known as: Khaub Poob, Kao poon, Kapoon, Kapong or Hmong Noodle Soup]
- 1-2 lb ground pork
- 1 jar of Chili paste with holy basil leaves (comes spicy and with curry already)
- 1 can of coconut milk
- Bamboo shoots
- Salt and black pepper
- Rice noodle
Garnishes: fish sauce, shredded cabbage, shredded banana leaf, onion, lime, cilantro, basil
1. Cook ground pork thoroughly then add chili past, coconut milk, bamboo shoots, salt and black pepper.
2. Boil for 15-20 minutes or until bamboo shoots are soft (do not add water).
3. In a bowl, serve over rice noodle.
